Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Chapter one of title twenty-four of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended by adding thereto a new section 24-119-1 to read as follows:
�24-119. Refuse compacting systems; chemicals. - In every multiple dwelling where a refuse compacting system is maintained or is in operation, a chemical agent which can effectively repel or destroy rodents and insects shall be applied, poured or sprayed on or over the refuse daily.
�2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
