Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subdivision e of section 16-120 of of the administrative code of the City of New York is hereby REPEALED and subdivisions f through i are re-lettered e through h respectively. �2. Chapter one of title sixteen of such code is hereby amended by the adding thereto a new section �16-119.1, to follow �16-119, to read as follows: �16-119.1. Public litter receptacles. a. No person shall deposit household or commercial refuse, incinerator residue or ashes, or liquid wastes in an open mesh litter basket placed on the streets by the department or any other person. b. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be liable for a civil penalty of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than three hundred dollars. �3. This local law shall take effect thirty days after its enactment into law. Referred to the Committee on Environmental Protection. HL:ts Int. 329
