Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section one. Section 19-152 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision h-1 to read as follows:
h-1. The owner of real property which fronts upon or abuts any street, as defined in subdivision 13 of section 1-112 of this code, or any other person, corporation, partnership or other entity having control of such property, shall maintain and repair the sidewalk adjoining such property and shall be solely liable for any injury or damage by reason of any omission, failure or negligence in maintaining or repairing such sidewalk.
�2. Section 16-123 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision d-1 to read as follows:
d-1. Any person subject to the provisions of subdivisions a and b of this section shall be solely liable for any injury or damage by reason of any omission, failure or negligence in complying with such subdivisions.
�3. This local law shall take effect immediately.
