Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Subdivision b of section 384 of the New York city charter is amended by adding thereto a new paragraph six to read as follows:
6. The city of New York, and agencies or departments thereof, shall not sell, auction, exchange, lease or otherwise alienate any real property within the jurisdiction of the department of housing preservation and development, or real property transferred to any other city agency or department from the department of housing preservation and development, where said real property is used as a greenthumb community garden for which technical assistance is provided to a non-profit community group by the department of parks and recreation for the purpose of maintaining said garden.
�2. This local law shall take effect immediately after it shall have be approved by the voters at the next general election held after it enactment into law.
