A LOCAL LAW
To amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to increasing the enhanced 911 emergency telephone system surcharge.
Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Subdivisions (a) and (c) of section 11-2323 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by local law number 94 for the year 1991, are amended to read as follows:
(a) In accordance with the provisions of article six of the county law, as amended, there is hereby established a surcharge of [thirty-five cents] one dollar per telephone access line per month on the customers of every telephone service supplier within the city of New York.
(c) All telephone service suppliers which provide local access service within the 911 service area in the city of New York shall begin to add the monthly surcharge of one dollar per telephone access line per month as provided in subdivision (a) of this section to all service bills no later than the forty-fifth day after the effective date of [this] the local law that increased such surcharge to one dollar per telephone access line per month.
� 2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
� 3. Notwithstanding the provisions of section two of this local law, if New York Assembly Bill No. 11817 has not become a law prior to the time that this local law is enacted, then this local law shall take effect immediately upon the enactment into law of such bill.
