Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 612 of chapter 24-A of the charter of the city of New York is hereby amended as follows:
6. [participate in the development of prevention programs] coordinate planning of prevention programs and delivery of services designed to assist families and individuals who are in imminent danger of becoming homeless. In performing such duties, the commissioner may develop and issue requests for proposals and evaluate responses thereto, negotiate, award, enter into and administer contracts, loans or other agreements, award and administer grants and obtain all necessary approvals;
� 2. This local law shall take effect immediately and expire on June 30, 2004.
