Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section one. Chapter one of title seven of the New York city administrative code is amended by the addition of a new section, 7-111, to follow section 7-110, to read as follows:
§7-111. Records training. The corporation counsel shall be required to establish a training program, to be held on a regular schedule at least on an annual basis, for all City agency records access officers and any appropriate agency staff responsible for servicing agency records, concerning all legal requirements, including Article 6 of the New York State Public Officers Law, for providing public access to agency records. Such training shall be designed to ensure the full compliance with all legal requirements enabling the public timely and efficient access to agency records.
§2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
