Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Section 10-303.2 of chapter three of title ten of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by Local Law 7 of 2005, is amended to add a new subdivision d, to read as follows:
d. Civil Penalty. (1) Any dealer or manufacturer that violates subdivision b of this section shall be liable to the city for a civil penalty in the amount of one hundred thousand dollars for each such violation.
(2) The corporation counsel, upon notification by the appropriate law enforcement agency that there is reason to believe that a dealer or manufacturer violated the provisions of subdivision b of this section, shall commence a civil action to recover the damages set forth above.
§2. This local law shall take effect 30 days after its enactment into law.
