Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subdivision 5 of Section 16-118 of administrative code of the city of New York is REPEALED and a new subdivision 5 is added to read as follows: 5. (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to distribute or cause to be distributed any unsolicited printed material to any building or premises that has posted a sign stating that unsolicited printed material is not wanted. (b) Any sign posted pursuant to paragraph (a) of subdivision 5 shall state the following in letters at least one-half inch in height: “This building does not want to receive any unsolicited printed material.” Said sign shall be securely placed on the building within three feet to the left or right of the building entrance and no less than four feet nor more than six feet from the ground. §2.
