Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Article 1 of subchapter 4 of chapter 2 of title 27 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 27-2096.1 to read as follows:
§27-2096.1 Annual survey of vacant and abandoned properties. Beginning on July first, two thousand eight and July first of every year thereafter, the department shall conduct a survey to identify all vacant or abandoned residential buildings and all vacant lots zoned for residential use and prepare a report of such survey. Such report shall note the street address of each such building and lot and if no street address exists, the tax block and lot, and shall be disaggregated by community district. Each such survey shall be sent to the speaker of the council within ten business days of its completion and within three months from the end of the fiscal year during which such survey was conducted the department shall post the results of such survey on the department’s website.
§2. This local law shall take effect immediately upon enactment.
