Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Section BC 3301 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by local law number 33 for the year 2007, is amended by adding a new section 3301.9.2.1 to read as follows:
3301.9.2.1 Construction site safety signs. There shall be posted at each site where construction-, excavation- or demolition-related activities in one or more areas readily visible to workers at such site, signs informing them of their right to report conditions at such site that endanger such workers or the general public. Such signs shall be in English, Spanish, Chinese, Hebrew, Urdu, Arabic, Polish, Russian and Haitian Creole and in such other languages as the commissioner deems appropriate. These signs shall provide a telephone number independent of the 311 service center where such reports may be made, must state that such reports may be made anonymously and that callers will not be asked their immigration status and contain such other information as the commissioner shall require.
§2. This local law shall take effect on July 1, 2008.
