Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Paragraph 1 of subsection a. of section 17-307 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended to read as follows:
a. 1. It shall be unlawful for any individual to act as a food vendor without having first obtained a food handler license [therefore] from the commissioner in accordance with the provisions of this subchapter[.], except that no such license shall be required for vendors of solely pre-packaged food and drinks that may be permanently stored and safely consumed at room temperature.
§2. This local law shall become effective thirty days after it shall have been enacted into law.
