Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subsection b of section 20-673.3 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended to read as follows: b. No fewer than four times per year, [Whenever] the commissioner [has reason to believe that a violation of this subchapter or any rule or regulation has occurred, he or she] shall investigate the business premises of any person who sells or offers for sale gasoline or other petroleum products for use in motor vehicles or motor boats [be authorized to make such investigation as he or she shall deem necessary, and to the extent necessary for this purpose he or she] and may examine any person and [may] compel the production of all relevant records to the extent necessary to determine compliance with this subchapter or any rule or regulation promulgated thereunder. §2.
