Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 19-163 of title nineteen of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new paragraph d to read as follows: d. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, no person parking a vehicle at a parking meter or muni-meter shall be required to activate such meter the Friday following Thanksgiving and no notice of violation or summons may be issued solely for the failure to activate such meter the Friday following Thanksgiving. For the purposes of this section, “muni-meter” shall have the same meaning as set forth in subdivision b of section 19-167.1. § 2. This local law shall take effect ninety days after its enactment.
