Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Title 17 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 17-104.1 to read as follows: §17-104.1 HIV/AIDS testing. a. For the purposes of this section, the following term shall be defined as follows: “HIV/AIDS test” means any one of the six FDA-approved rapid HIV tests. b. At least once each semester at city university of New York campuses, the department shall make available an HIV/AIDS test to any university student at each city university of New York campus. c. If the department’s offer to test pursuant to subdivision b of this section is accepted by a student, the department must make every reasonable attempt to contact the individual with results and counseling as to any needed health care services. § 2. This local law shall take effect ninety days after its enactment into law. LS#2779 BBB/MWC 6/21/12
