Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subchapter 2 of chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York, is amended by adding a new section 19-162.3 to read as follows: §19-162.3 Standing near fire hydrants permitted. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this code or the rules of the city of New York, it shall be lawful for a motor vehicle to stand adjacent to or within fifteen feet of such fire hydrant, so long as a motorist capable of moving such vehicle away from such fire hydrant at any time at the direction of an authorized New York city employee or other authorized law enforcement personnel is seated within such vehicle at all times. §2.
