Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Chapter 5 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-175.5 to read as follows: �19-175.5 Use of express lanes or high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes by disabled veterans. Vehicles bearing disabled veteran license plates issued by the New York state department of motor vehicles shall be allowed to use any street or bridge lane designated by the department of transportation as an express lane or high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane, regardless of whether such vehicles are occupied by a passenger. �2. This local law shall take effect ninety days after its enactment into law. GZ/lf Int. No. 545/2011 LS 193/2014
