By Council Members Greenfield and Koo WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on November 8, 2013 a copy of its designation dated October 29, 2013 (the "Designation"), of Tammany Hall, located at 100 East 17th Street (aka 100-102 East 17th Street, 44-48 Union Square, 44-48 Union Square East), Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan as a landmark and Tax Map Block 872, Lot 78, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on December 30, 2013, its report on the Designation dated December 18, 2013 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on January 28, 2014; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
