Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Chapter one of title 14 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 14-118.3 to read as follows: �14-118.3 Handheld computers. a. Handheld computers used by the department to enforce laws, rules and regulations relating to parking shall access and utilize the sign information system created by the commissioner of transportation as required by section 19-175.1 of the code. b. The handheld computers referred to in subdivision a of this section shall be programmed to ensure that no notice of violation of parking laws, rules or regulations is issued when the department of transportation's sign information system indicates that issuing such notice would be inconsistent with parking laws, rules and regulations applicable at that time. �2.
