By Council Members Greenfield and Koo WHEREAS, the New York City School Construction Authority submitted to the Council on November 21, 2016, a site plan pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law for a new, approximately 646-Seat Intermediate School Facility to be located at the south side of Astoria Boulevard between 111th and 112th Streets on Block 1705, Lots 1, 5, 10 and 61, Community District No. 3, Borough of Queens, serving students in Community School District No. 24 (the "Site Plan"); WHEREAS, the Site Plan is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 1732 of the New York State Public Authorities Law; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Site Plan on December 1, 2016; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues, including the negative declaration issued on November 3, 2016, (SEQR Project Number 17-012) (the "Negative Declaration"); and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Site Plan; RESOLVED: The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant effect on the environment as set forth in the Negative Declaration. Pursuant to Section 1732 of the Public Authorities Law, the Council approves the Site Plan. Adopted.
