Summary
This bill would require the department of environmental protection to conduct a feasibility study on the implementation of a community choice aggregation program for energy purchasing by March 1, 2019. If the department determines that such a plan would be feasible and is recommended by the department, then the department will be required to submit an implementation plan to the mayor and speaker by March 1, 2020. The city was authorized to conduct such a program by the public service commission in 2016.
