Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Chapter 55 of the New York city charter is amended by adding a new section 1206 to read as follows: � 1206. Notice of water service shut off. When, as the result of non-emergency planned work, the department schedules a water shut off that affects residential property, notice of the shut off must be provided to all occupants of such property at least seventy-two hours before the scheduled water shut off is to take place. Such notice shall be delivered to occupants of each residential unit and shall include information relating to the duration of the planned work. � 2.
