Summary

The proposed bill would eliminate the exemption for golf courses from the requirements of Local Law 37/2005. LL 37 restricts the types of pesticides the City can apply on City-owned or leased property, and creates reporting and notification requirements for City agencies, contractors, or subcontractors applying pesticides on city-owned or leased property.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Paragraph (3) of subdivision a of section 17-1205 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as added by local law 37 for the year 2005, is amended to read as follows: (3) pesticides applied to professional playing fields[, golf courses] or used to maintain water quality in swimming pools; �2. This local law takes effect 120 days after it becomes law, except that the commissioner may take such actions as are necessary to implement this local law, including the promulgation of rules, before such date.
