Summary

This bill would require owners of multiple dwellings to obtain the previous four years rent history from the department of housing and community renewal for each dwelling unit, if available, and provide such information to the current tenant of each such dwelling unit.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 27-2005 of article 1 of subchapter 2 of chapter 2 of title 27 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision g to read as follows: g. The owner of a multiple dwelling shall obtain for each dwelling unit, where available, the previous four years of rent amounts from the New York state division of housing and community renewal, and provide such rent amounts to the current tenant of such dwelling unit. � 2. This local law takes effect 120 days after it becomes law, except that the commissioner of housing preservation and development may take such measures as are necessary for its implementation, including the promulgation of rules, before such date.
