Summary
This bill would require the Department of Education (DOE) to report annually on the number of employees per school bus vendor who are trained to handle specific requirements for the transportation of students with disabilities who may or may not have individualized education programs. The report would include (i) a description of employee training; (ii) whether such employees accompany disabled students on their bus routes; and (iii) whether the parents or guardians of these students are provided specific contact information such as a name and phone number for employees to reach in the event of an emergency.
