Summary
This local law requires the Commissioner of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Commissioner of Sanitation, to study the feasibility of constructing a new wastewater treatment facility on Rikers Island. The Commissioner of Environmental Protection would also assess the presence of methane on Rikers Island and the potential to install methane recovery systems.
