Summary
This bill would require the New York City Police Department (“NYPD”) to develop and publish guidance for determining whether a motor vehicle with an alleged registration-related violation shall be towed. This bill would also require NYPD to issue a quarterly report on the number of vehicles towed due to an alleged registration-related violation. Such report would be submitted to the Mayor and City Council and would be posted on the NYPD website. The first report would be due on August 1, 2021.
