Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Paragraph 1 of subdivision (d) of section 440 of the New York city charter, as amended by a vote of the electors on November 5, 2019, is amended to read as follows: 1. It shall be the duty of the police department to provide such assistance as the board may reasonably request, to cooperate fully with investigations by the board, and to provide to the board upon request records and other materials which are necessary for investigations undertaken pursuant to this section, except such records or materials that cannot be disclosed by law. In addition to records and other materials requested pursuant to this paragraph, and except such records or materials that cannot be disclosed by law, the police department shall provide to the board all records and other materials documenting the employment history of an officer who is the subject of a complaint received by the board, including, but not limited to, records documenting such officer's rank, tenure, disciplinary history, leaves of absence, accommodations, status in any internal monitoring system and any other records or materials for the evaluation of performance toward continued employment or promotion. Such records and materials shall be provided in a digital format, as practicable, and immediately upon the police department's receipt of notice from the board that such officer is the subject of a complaint received by the board. � 2.
