By Council Members Salamanca and Riley WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on June 25, 2021 a copy of its designation report dated June 15, 2021 (the "Designation"), designating the New York Public Library Harlem Branch located at 9 West 124th Street (aka 9-11 West 124th Street), Community District 10, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Tax Map Block 1722, Lot 30, as its landmark site pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter and Section 25-303 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York; WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on August 20, 2021, its report on the Designation dated August 18, 2021 (the "Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on September 13, 2021; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation. RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the City Charter and Section 25-303 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation and the Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
