WHEREAS, the New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), filed an application pursuant to Section 197-c of the New York City Charter for the site selection and acquisition of property located at 188 West 230th Street, aka 2992 Exterior Street (Block 3264, Lot 104), for use as a new NYPD Bronx Special Victim Services Squad facility, in the Kingsbridge neighborhood of Bronx, Community District 8 (ULURP No. C 220082 PCX) (the "Application"); WHEREAS, the City Planning Commission filed with the Council on January 14, 2022 its decision dated December 15, 2021 (the "Decision") on the Application; WHEREAS, the Decision is subject to review and action by the Council pursuant to Section 197-d of the City Charter; WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Decision and Application on February 9, 2022; WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Decision and Application; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the relevant environmental issues, including the Negative Declaration issued August 27th, 2021 (CEQR No. 21NYP001X) (the "Negative Declaration"). RESOLVED: The Council finds that the action described herein will have no significant impact on the environment as set forth in the Negative Declaration. Pursuant to Section 197-d of the City Charter and on the basis of the Decision and Application, and based on the environmental determination and consideration described in the report, C 220082 PCX, incorporated by reference herein, and the record before the Council, the Council approves the Decision for the site selection and acquisition of the Site to facilitate a new NYPD Bronx Special Victims Services (SVS) unit, which includes office space and an adjoining outdoor accessory parking lot.
