Summary

This bill would require all vehicles powered by lithium-ion batteries and licensed by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission to display an emblem on the exterior of the vehicle to identify such vehicle as one powered by a lithium-ion battery.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 19-514 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision j to read as follows: j. Any licensed vehicle or commuter van that is powered by a lithium-ion battery shall display an emblem, approved by the commission and prominent on such vehicle's exterior, that identifies such vehicle as one powered by a lithium-ion battery. � 2.
