Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 27-2005 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision h to read as follows: h. The owner of a dwelling shall deliver or cause to be delivered to each tenant and prospective tenant of the dwelling, along with the lease or lease renewal form for such tenant or prospective tenant, and shall post and maintain in a common area of the building containing such dwelling, a notice, in a form developed or approved by the department, regarding the procedures that should be followed in the event of flooding. The notice may be combined with any existing required notices and must instruct tenants of evacuation protocol, including but not limited to the location of stairs and emergency exits. � 2.
