Summary

This bill would require the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) to compile and distribute to tenants or occupants of a multiple dwelling a list of any unresolved violations of the Housing Maintenance Code for such dwelling. HPD would distribute these lists annually by mail.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Article 1 of subchapter 4 of chapter 2 of title 27 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 27-2096.3 to read as follows: � 27-2096.3 Annual notice of open violations in multiple dwellings. No later than January 1, 2023, and annually thereafter, the department shall compile and distribute by mail to the tenants and occupants of each dwelling unit of a multiple dwelling a list of all unresolved violations of this code in such multiple dwelling, as well as short descriptions of each such violation. � 2.
