Summary
The proposed bill would increase the penalties for certain motor vehicle related noise violations, including excessive noise from motor vehicles 10,000 pounds or less, excessive noise from motor vehicles 10,000 pounds or more, unauthorized use of motor vehicle claxons, and unauthorized use of motor vehicle air horns or gongs.
Committee on Public Safety — Police Department, Civilian Complaint Review Board, and Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, courts, legal services, District Attorneys, and the Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Table I of paragraph 5 of subdivision b of section 24-257 of the administrative code of the city of New York, as amended by local law 72 for the year 2016, is amended to read as follows:
