Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Subchapter 2 of chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding new section 19-175.9 to read as follows:
� 19-175.9 Signs indicating the presence of photo speed violation monitoring systems. a. Definitions. For the purposes of this section, the term "photo speed violation monitoring system" means a device installed for the purpose of issuing violations pursuant to section 1180-b of the vehicle and traffic law.
b. The commissioner shall install one or more signs near the location of every photo speed violation monitoring system. Such signs shall indicate the presence of the photo speed violation monitoring system and shall be visible to traffic approaching from all directions. The installation of all such signs shall be completed no later than 1 year after the effective date of the local law that added this section.
� 2. This local law takes effect 60 days after it becomes law.
