Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. The department of parks and recreation, in consultation with the department of environmental protection, the department of transportation, the department of citywide administrative services, and any other relevant agency or office as determined by the mayor, shall conduct a study to identify community districts throughout the city that have the fewest proportion of green space sites accessible to the population of each such community district, and to recommend methods to increase green space in such community districts. Such study shall be submitted to the mayor and the speaker of the council by no later than March 1, 2026 and include, but not be limited to, the following: 1. A ranking of a minimum of 10 community districts that have the least amount of green space per capita; 2. A description of each site of existing green space within each community district that is currently in operation, and the entity that has jurisdiction over such green space; 3. An analysis of the condition of each site and whether such site may require significant repair work or renovation; 4. For each site where it is determined that significant repair work or renovation is needed, a description of the steps, an estimated length of time, and an estimated overall cost needed to complete such work; and 5. Recommendations relating to actions the city and other public entities can take to increase the amount of green space in such community districts, such as planting trees or other vegetation, developing parks or playgrounds, or increasing the amount of environmental infrastructure. � 2.
