Summary
This bill would require the establishment of a coordinator for borough-based jail construction to be appointed by the Mayor. The coordinator will serve as the point of contact for local stakeholder and elected officials on issues related to the construction of the borough-based jails, review work permits, designate community liasons at each borough-based jail construction site, and, in conjunction with all relevant city agencies, develop mitigation plans to address issues such as excessive noise, traffic congestion, street closures, and parking access related to contruction of the borough-based jails.
