Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subdivision a of section 13-d of the New York city charter is amended by adding new definitions in alphabetical order to read as follows: Crime victim services. The term "crime victim services" means services or compensation, including, but not limited to, medical bills, counseling expenses, burial and funeral costs, and lost wages resulting from being the victim of a crime. Gang affiliated. The term "gang affiliated" means any individual who is: 1. A member of an ongoing association of 3 or more individuals whose members engage in a continuing series of criminal acts; or 2. A person who regularly and knowingly associates with or provides support to such association, as described in paragraph 1 of this subdivision. � 2. Section 13-d of the New York city charter is amended by adding a new subdivision d to read as follows: d. Services for gang affiliated crime victims. The coordinator shall ensure that city agencies and city-contracted organizations are not denying crime victims services to any individuals due to actual or presumed gang affiliation. � 3. This local law takes effect 30 days after it becomes law. CY LS #18969 10/1/2025 1 1
