Subchapter 2 of chapter 1 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-162.6 to read as follows: 19-162.6 Bus lane restrictions. a. The department shall install at least 1 sign on each block where a bus lane restriction is in effect, provided that the department shall not be required to install such a sign if: (i) the bus lane restriction at such block is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; or (ii) the department determines in its professional engineering judgment that such installation would be impracticable based on block length or other site-specific considerations. Each such sign shall indicate the days and hours of such bus lane restriction, and shall be clearly visible to drivers. b. The department shall post on its website the days and hours during which each bus lane restriction is in effect. The information in such posting shall be searchable by street name. c. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to affect the validity of a notice of violation or notice of liability issued for the failure of an operator of any vehicle to comply with a bus lane restriction. 2. This local law takes effect 240 days after it becomes law. BJR/TM LS #8656 Int. #0647-2024 2/27/26 12:01PM 1 1
