Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Subdivision of a section ninety-seven of the charter of the city of New York, as adopted by the voters at the general election held on November 7, 1989, is hereby amended to read as follows: a. There shall be an audit committee which shall consist of the mayor, the comptroller, the president of the council, speaker of the council, and [four] five private members, four of whom shall be appointed by the mayor, [two of whom] and one by the speaker. Of the private members appointed by the mayor, two shall be appointed upon the recommendation of the comptroller. The members of the committee shall elect a private member as chair for an annual term commencing on the first day of March. �2. Section 3-306 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended to read as follows: �3-06. Report as to outstanding contracts. The comptroller may report to the mayor [, the board of estimate] and the council, from time to time, a statement of all contracts made by the city, or directed or authorized by the city and not performed or completed or upon which any moneys remain unpaid; with the amount of money remaining unpaid on each such contract. �3. This local law shall take effect immediately after approval upon submission to the electorate at the next succeeding general election. - 2 -
