Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Paragraph seven of subdivision c of section 24 of the New York City Charter is hereby amended to read as follows:
7. All nominations for elections to fill vacancies held pursuant to paragraphs four and five of this subdivision shall be by independent nominating petition. A signature on an independent nominating petition made earlier that the date of the proclamation required by paragraph one of this subdivision shall not be counted. Neither the name nor symbol of any party or independent body making a nomination shall appear on ballots for such elections.
�2. Paragraph seven of subdivision b of section 25 of the New York City Charter is hereby amended to read as follows:
7. All nominations for elections to fill vacancies held pursuant to paragraphs four and five of this subdivision shall be by independent nominating petition. A signature on an independent nominating petition made earlier than the date of the proclamation required by paragraph one of this subdivision shall not be counted. Neither the name nor symbol of any party or independent body making a nomination shall appear on ballots for such elections.
�3. Paragraph seven of subdivision e of section 81 of the New York City Charter is hereby amended to read as follows:
7. All nominations for elections to full vacancies held pursuant to paragraphs four and five of this subdivision shall be by independent nominating petition. A signature on an independent nominating petition made earlier than the date of the proclamation required by paragraph one of this subdivision shall not be counted. Neither the name nor symbol of any party or independent body making a nomination shall appear on ballots for such election.
�4. This local law shall take effect immediately.
