Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section one. Title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding thereto a new section 19-213 to read as follows:
�19-213 Limitation on removal of illegally parked motor vehicles. a. Notwithstanding the provisions of any other law, rule or regulation, no city marshal, representative of any city agency or representative of a private towing company may tow or otherwise remove a motor vehicle solely for the purpose of enforcing a parking violation or satisfying a judgment of the parking violation bureau or any successor thereto, except with respect to a motor vehicle which is illegally parked in a bus stop or at a fire hydrant, in front of a public or private driveway or otherwise presents an imminent threat or danger to public safety.
�2. This local law shall take effect immediately.
