Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 16-314 of title 16 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended by adding a new subdivision c to read as follows: c. Notwithstanding any authority of the commissioner to revise any portion of the recycling program in accordance with subdivisions a and b of this section, the term “designated recyclable materials” for residential generators of department-collected solid waste shall include, but not be limited to, polyethylene terephthalate plastic (also known as PET, PETE and plastic resin number 1), high density polyethylene plastic (also known as HDPE and plastic resin number 2), polyvinyl chloride plastic (also know as PVC,V and plastic resin number 3), low density polyethylene plastic (also known as LDPE and plastic resin number 4), polypropylene plastic (also know as PP and plastic resin number 5), polystyrene plastic, (also know as PS and plastic resin number 6) and plastic resin number 7). §2.
