Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section 1. Subdivision c of section 19-170 of chapter 5 of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended to read as follows:
c. A first violation of this section shall be punishable by [the] a monetary fine [authorized for violation of the rules and regulations of the commissioner in paragraph one of subdivision a of section twenty nine hundred and three of the New York City Charter] of seven hundred fifty dollars. Any subsequent violation of this section by the same person within a six-month period shall be punishable by a monetary fine of one thousand two hundred fifty dollars.
§2. This local law shall take effect sixty days after it is enacted into law.
