Be it enacted by the Council as follows:
Section one. Subchapter 2 of chapter one of title 19 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new section 19-163.1 to read as follows:
§19-163.1 Suspension of parking rules around schools. While school is in session, all parking rules shall be suspended between 8:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and between 2:45 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on all streets adjacent to any school under the jurisdiction of the New York city department of education or any non-public school that provides educational instruction to students at or below the fifth grade level.
§2. This local law shall take effect thirty days after its enactment into law.
