Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 3319 of chapter 33 of the New York city building code as added by local law number 33 for the year 2007, is amended by adding a new subsection 3319.6.4 to read as follows: 3319.6.4 On-site crane inspections and reporting by independent inspectors. Any crane in operation in the city shall be inspected once every six months by a person qualified as an independent inspector to conduct such inspections as determined by the department. A report of each inspection shall be submitted to the commissioner, maintained at the site where the crane is located, and retained by the owner of the crane. §2. This local law shall take effect sixty days from enactment except that the commissioner of buildings shall take all actions necessary for its implementation, including the promulgation of rules, prior to such effective date.
