Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 20-231 of Chapter 2 of title 20 of the administrative code of the city of New York is hereby amended by adding a new subdivision l, to read as follows: l. Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, a new license may be granted for the operation of a newsstand that is attached to or is abutting a building, and was in continuous operation from November 1, 1979 to October 29, 2003 provided that all of the following conditions are met prior to the grant of such license : (i) such newsstand complies with the existing Fire Code: (ii) such newsstand does not extend further into the street than stooplines of such adjoining or abutting building or stooplines that are within twenty-five feet of such newsstand; (iii) the Department of Transportation and a franchisee have consented to the inclusion of such newsstand in a franchise. §2. This local law shall take effect immediately. LS 2944/2007 ASP 12/13/07
