By Council Members Greenfield and Koo WHEREAS, the Landmarks Preservation Commission filed with the Council on March 16, 2017 a copy of its designation report dated March 7, 2107 (the "Designation Report"), including the designation pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter and Chapter 3 of Title 25 of the Administrative Code of the City of New York of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel Interiors, ground through third floors, located at 301 Park Avenue (a/k/a 101-121 East 49th Street, 100-120 East 50th Street and 538-556 Lexington Avenue), Community District 5, Borough of Manhattan, as a landmark and Tax Map Block 1304, Lot 7501, as its landmark site (the "Designation"); WHEREAS, the Designation is subject to review by the Council pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter; WHEREAS, the New York City Planning Commission submitted to the Council on April 28, 2017, its report on the Designation dated April 26, 2017 (the "City Planning Commission Report"); WHEREAS, upon due notice, the Council held a public hearing on the Designation on May 2, 2017; and WHEREAS, the Council has considered the land use implications and other policy issues relating to the Designation; RESOLVED: Pursuant to Section 3020 of the New York City Charter, and on the basis of the information and materials contained in the Designation Report and the City Planning Commission Report, the Council affirms the Designation.
