Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 25 of the New York city charter is amended to add a new subdivision c to read as follows: c. No person shall be eligible to hold the office of council member for a district in which such person has not, at the time he or she is elected to hold such office, resided for at least one year, except that in the case of an election immediately following a reapportionment of council districts he or she must instead have been a resident of a county in which such council district is located for at least one year prior to such election. � 2.
