Summary

This bill would require the Department of Finance to provide an e-mail notification to each Council Member when a document is recorded against any real property in the Council Member’s district that has been continuously owned by the same party for 30 years or more.

Be it enacted by the Council as follows: Section 1. Section 7-628 of the administrative code of the city of New York is amended by adding a new subdivision h to read as follows: h. The department shall provide a notification to each member of the city council by email of any recording event against any real property in the district represented by such council member that has been continuously owned by the same party for 30 years or more. Such notification shall be sent to the applicable council member no later than 30 days after such recording event. � 2. This local law takes effect 90 days after the date that a local law for the year 2025 amending the administrative code of the city of New York, relating to notifying interested parties of the recording of certain real estate instruments, as proposed in introduction number 1086-A, takes effect.
